Celebrate the best of Darlington all in one place
Darlington has a rich cultural heritage; starting out as a small Anglo-Saxon settlement, it quickly became a bustling market town, and then the birthplace of modern railway. Running since 1983, Darlington Community Carnival celebrates the town’s vivid history. This year, the carnival is arriving at Hopetown Darlington on Saturday 27 June, bringing together local traders, businesses, and community groups – take a look at what’s coming up.

- Seafood from Saltfish
- Beer bar from Crafty’s
- Gin and Cocktails from Lady Grey Bar
- Mocktails from Poison Lounge
- Ice Cream from Nevison’s Ice Cream at North Lodge Park

There’s plenty for kids to do at the carnival. There’ll be games and rides, including a miniature railway and Darlington FC Foundation football activities, so there’ll be loads of chances to burn off that ice-cream energy!
