Summer fun is continuing into September in Darlington

Summer’s nearly over, but that doesn’t meant the fun has to stop. Come rain or shine, there’s always something to enjoy in Darlington.

Looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat? Look no further than the Indoor Market. There are tonnes of local goods for sale plus a wide variety of street food vendors. You can get fish and chips, curries, burgers, gyros, bratwurst and sweet treats. Whether you want to catch up on shopping or tuck into some great food, the Indoor Market should always be on your to-do list when coming to Darlington.

Dolphin Centre

What if you want to get active but the good weather has packed up for summer? The Dolphin Centre has got you covered. Take the kids bowling on one of the lanes, or maybe for a swim in the huge pools. Young kids love the pirate-themed soft play – it’s a great place to let them burn off some energy while you have a breather.

Hopetown

After a fantastic summer, the fun at Hopetown shows no sign of slowing down. Alongside the carriage-full of brilliant smaller events, they have some incredible exhibitions and activities that you don’t want to miss.

Step into the final chapter of Memory of a Journey, the much-loved S&DR200 festival that brought communities together across the North East. Thousands of hand-crafted peg dolls – each telling its own story – will be on display between 5 – 27 September.

The S&DR fun doesn’t stop there; S&DR201 is a celebration of steam throughout September. Hopetown will be welcoming steam engines of all shapes and sizes, giving you an opportunity to see these titans up close, as well as take part in family activities, special events, music, and other entertainment.
