Join Darlington Libraries for their annual Library Takeover Day.
** Due to high winds this event will now be held in the library 2026.
It will be an exciting, fun-filled day out for the whole family as we celebrate with interactive sessions, performances and meet some amazing local authors and take part in a host of free activities throughout the day 11am - 3pm.
Come along and join in the fun with Darlington Libraries in the library where you can also find out more about the host of summer activities on offer at your local library during the holidays.
Public toilets are available:
- Dolphin Centre - including accessible toilets
- Darlington Library
- The Market Hall
- The Cornmill Shopping Centre
Ear defenders Some people find wearing ear defenders useful when visiting events. * There may be some music at this event.
- There are cycling parking stands surrounding the market square.
- Taxi drivers can drop visitors off at Darlington Market Square or on Crown Street.
- Regular trains come to Darlington train station 730m
- Buses travel into the town centre, depending which route your arrive on all bus stops.
- Using map and navigation apps can help plan your route.
