Darlington Hippodrome

Darlington Hippodrome is an Edwardian theatre situated on Parkgate that can seat up to to 1,000 theatre-goers. The theatre hosts a wide variety of shows, including musicals, dramas, comedy nights, talks and plays. There is also a cafe inside the theatre, The Hippo Lounge, which is open daily from 10am.

Hopetown Darlington

Hopetown Darlington is a free railway-themed visitor attraction that opened in 2024, it aims to explore and promote Darlington's pioneering railway heritage. The museum is home to over 30,000 objects including archives, vehicles, art, costumes, ephemera and furniture showcasing the history of the railways.

Darlington Library

Darlington Library is located in the town centre and is housed in a beautiful Grade ll building. As well as lending books, the library also runs several events annually and is home to a fantastic art gallery.

Theatre Hullabaloo

Theatre Hullabaloo is housed in a beautifully restored Edwardian fire station beside Darlington Hippodrome, this ambitious space is a national centre for theatre for young audiences. The Hullabaloo is a place where imagination comes alive — presenting world-class performances for children, immersive creative playscapes, and an exciting programme of workshops and classes for families. It is a welcoming hub for creativity, learning and play.

The Majestic

The Majestic Theatre is an independent theatre, based on Bondgate. With a capacity of just over 300, the theatre showcases musicals, plays, comedy acts, tribute bands and more. They often host open mic nights, offering local talent the chance to take to the stage.

The Forum

The Forum Music Studios is a music venue located on Borough Rd. It is known for hosting a wide range of live music performances, including concerts, gigs, tribute acts, and local talent showcases. In addition to live music events, The Forum Music Studios also hosts workshops, music classes, and community-driven initiatives, contributing to the local music scene’s growth and development.
